THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN IBEW 743 JATC APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM.

APPLICATION INTAKE IS NOW OPEN. ALL APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AT THIS TIME WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE INCOMING SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027.  Once we have received your application and transcript, you will be notified of the aptitude test date. High school transcripts/GED/college transcripts must indicate a passing grade in Algebra in order to qualify to take the aptitude test. Transcripts can be uploaded directly when applying.  If you are not in possession of your transcript and you are requesting it from your school, the transcripts can be sent  to the apprentice office via mail or email.  Transcript and application are BOTH needed to qualify to take the aptitude test. Emailed transcripts can be sent to jenng@ibew743.org. Paper copies of transcripts can be sent to IBEW LU743 Reading Joint Apprenticeship, 20 Morgan Drive, Reading, Pa 19608. 

Prior to applying:  please check the jurisdiction map before applying as you must live in Local 743’s jurisdiction to be potentially selected as an apprentice in the Reading Joint Apprenticeship Program.  Click on “About” at the top of  this page and drop down to jurisdiction map, enter your home address and make sure you reside within the shaded area.

HOW TO APPLY: 

• Click on Apply Now, read the pre-requisites for applying and at the bottom of the page click on SUBMIT APPLICATION ONLINE AT TRADESCHOOL. Upon completion hit the submit button; this will automatically send your application to the Apprentice Office and you will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt email. You will not be able to submit if you are not in possession of your transcript to upload but your account will have been created.  If you request your transcript and it is being sent directly to the apprenticeship office, it will be uploaded to your account upon receipt and you should then receive an email stating that your application is complete.
• Reminder: You must provide this office with an official transcript (high school, college, GED) indicating a passing grade in algebra, if transcript is not received your application will be archived and not processed.
