Excellence in Electrical Training Since 1943
The IBEW Local 743 / NECA Electrical Training Alliance has been educating and developing electricians since 1943, establishing a long‑standing reputation for producing one of the region’s most skilled electrical workforces. Through the IBEW Local 743 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC), our experienced instructors have consistently trained top‑tier journeyman electricians serving Berks, Lancaster, and Schuylkill counties.
The electrical industry is both highly technical and physically demanding, requiring a workforce that is well trained, adaptable, and safety‑focused. Individuals who enter the electrical apprenticeship program are challenged daily while gaining access to a rewarding career that offers professional growth and long‑term stability. Members of Local 743 benefit from competitive wages, comprehensive healthcare coverage, retirement benefits, and ongoing educational opportunities throughout their careers.
As the industry continues to evolve with advancements in technology, equipment, and installation techniques, continuous education is essential. The IBEW Local 743 JATC offers a wide range of continuing education and certification programs to ensure both apprentices and journeymen remain current with industry standards and best practices. These programs help maintain a workforce that is among the most skilled, efficient, and respected in the region.
Safety remains a top priority. Local 743 electricians receive industry‑leading OSHA safety training and certifications, reinforcing a strong culture of safety on every jobsite. This commitment helps protect our members, their coworkers, contractors, and the public, while ensuring work is performed to the highest professional standards.
