About the IBEW Local 743 / NECA Electrical Training Alliance
The mission of the IBEW Local 743 / NECA Electrical Training Alliance is to educate and develop highly skilled apprentices who meet the evolving needs of the electrical industry. Our goal is to deliver comprehensive training that equips individuals with the knowledge, technical expertise, and professionalism required for long-term success in the trade.
The four-year, state‑registered apprenticeship program combines paid on‑the‑job training, hands‑on laboratory instruction, and structured classroom education. Apprentices earn while they learn by working alongside experienced journeyman electricians and electrical contractors while receiving competitive wages and excellent benefits. Throughout the program, apprentices complete 8,000 hours of supervised on‑the‑job training, along with a rigorous academic curriculum designed to reinforce industry standards and best practices.
A career in the electrical industry is both challenging and highly rewarding. Successful completion of the apprenticeship program leads to becoming an IBEW journeyman electrician, a pathway that provides stable employment, excellent wages, family medical insurance, and retirement benefits. These opportunities are available to individuals who demonstrate commitment, strong work ethic, and a desire to excel in a demanding hands‑on profession.
In addition to apprentice training, the IBEW Local 743 / NECA Electrical Training Alliance offers state‑of‑the‑art continuing education for journeymen electricians. The training center provides annual upgrade courses to keep members current with advancing technologies and modern construction practices. Industry‑leading OSHA safety training and certifications are also offered to ensure Local 743 members maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship on every jobsite.
